By the invitation of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Rector of RIAT Evgeny Trofimov met with the CEO of Nusazi Abbas Abad Iran, Mr. Seyed Hossein Hejazi, head of the delegation arrived in Moscow to participate in the III International Exhibition-Conference "Creation, maintenance and development of a comfortable urban Environment" on April 6 2023.

Besides Mr. Seyed Hossein Hejazi, two mayors of Tehran city districts and other members of the delegation attended the meeting from the Iranian side. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ahmad Reza Fallah, Counselor of the Embassy.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Seyed Hossein Hejazi gave detailed information about the historical complex of Abbas Abad, registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List in Iran. The garden of the Abbas Abad complex is located 9 kilometers from the city of Behshahr in Mazandaran province in northern Iran. The complex consists of the Abbas-Abad dam, reservoir, garden, palace, bathhouse, blue mill and other historical sites. It was built by order of Abbas Shah I in 1613 and now it is one of the main attractions of Iran.

During the meeting, the Rector of the RIAT and Mr. Seyed Hossein Hejazi exchanged views on expanding cooperation between the countries in the field of tourism and discussed other issues related to this topic and of mutual interest. In particular, the Iranian side expressed a desire to increase the number of Russian tourists visiting Iran, despite the negative information disseminated by a number of social networks.
The Rector told about the history of the RIAT’s creation and the present state of Academy, as well as about the current international cooperation programs.

The parties discussed the possibility of establishing bilateral cooperation between the RIAT and one of the universities of Iran, agreed to create a joint group of experts to prepare for future cooperation. On the Iranian side, the Rector of the RIAT was invited to visit Iran for a more detailed acquaintance with the country and its needs for training specialists to work in the tourism industry. The invitation was gratefully accepted.
