    Overview
    Russian International Academy for Tourism (RIAT) is the leading Russian higher educational institution that trains specialists for tourism industry and tourism business since 1969. It has state accreditation and certification. The quality of educational services is confirmed by WTO-Themis Foundation (Andorra) and SGS (Switzerland) certification organizations according to the international standards of WTO TedQual and ISO 9001-2000.

    Education is provided in the following fields and specialties:
  • (4) specialties of college vocational training;
  • (12) specialties and (1) direction of higher professional education (bachelor, specialist, master);
  • (2) programs of post-graduate professional education (Ph.D. programs);
  • a wide range of programs for supplementary professional training and development.

    Academy has:
  • The Center of Undergraduate Training;
  • MA education;
  • Post-Graduate Education;
  • Institute of Supplementary Professional Education;
  • Specialized Scientific Board for defending Ph.D. dissertations and assigning scientific degrees (at 2 levels- Ph.D. and Full Doctorate levels).

    Academy has its branches in 30 cities of Russia and countries of the CIS. Total number of RIAT students, including the students of RIAT branches exceeds 28.000 people. Academy practices day-time, evening, correspondence, distance and mixed type forms of education. RIAT graduates get State Diploma of the Russian Federation, as well as Diploma Supplement that helps to determine the grade of recognition and specialization of a student outside his country.

    Russian International Academy for Tourism (RIAT) is the leading Russian educational and scientific center in the field of vocational tourism training of the international level, certified in accordance with the quality standards ISO 9001:2008, the member of the association of the leading hotel schools (EURHODIP), member of the network UNITWIN UNESCO and knowledge network of the UNWTO.
     RIAT, as UNWTO affiliated member, is aimed, in accordance with the purposes and principles of U.N.O, to support tourism to contribute the economic development, international cooperation, peace, prosperity, world-wide respect of the human rights and basic freedoms for people of all races, gender, culture and religion.
    The success and leading position of the RIAT is the result of the innovation development of Academy in accordance with up-to-date demands of tourism industry and tourism labor market, applying all the knowledge and experience of the international level training to meet the demands of the educational services consumers.
     The faculty and the staff of the RIAT support the quality improvement of tourism vocational training in accordance with the motto of the RIAT “Tourism vocational training for the peace and development».
