RIAT students at an International Student Food Competition in India

Even in today's challenging times, the Russian International Academy for Tourism continues to use every opportunity to help students master professional skills that meet international standards, as well as intercultural communication skills.

The Academy sent a group of students and their mentor Herman Tsai to Kolkata to participate in an international student food competition. The students of the Academy, Maria Bliznyuk (Vatel-RIAT) and Ekaterina Kulguskina (Technology of products and organization of public catering), successfully performed in the declared nominations: "Mixology", "Cake Icing" and "Culinary". The competition was held from March 11 to 15 at the Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management, with which the Rector of RIAT recently signed a cooperation agreement.

Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management has already opened its doors for students from all over the world for the 8th time.

More than 160 students from 30 countries came to sunny Kolkata to show what they have learned in their educational institutions.

Maria presented at the competition original cocktails "Trans-Siberian Express" and "Mandarin Bellini", and Ekaterina in the chefs' nomination prepared French consommé, juicy chicken roll, and exquisite dessert - pistachio tartlet with chocolate ganache.

The judges highly appreciated the culinary skills of our students!

The girls were awarded medals and certificates of participation and what is more important - gained invaluable experience of participation in international competitions!
