MR. JAYANTA GHOSH, VICE-RECTOR OF GURU NANAK INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT (INDIA), ARRIVED AT THE RUSSIAN INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY FOR TOURISM ON A BUSINESS VISIT

Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management (India), located in Kolkata, is well known in the Academy. Recently, Nikita Nikultsev, a student of the Faculty of Management, became a participant in an international competition held there. India has one of the largest higher education networks in the world. The educational institution is directly under the control of the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technologies of the Ministry of Tourism of the country and has the most developed infrastructure compared to other private institutes of hotel management in India.

The main purpose of the visit is to sign a cooperation agreement between the two educational institutions, which provides for cooperation in the most important areas of higher education. The day began with a conversation with Rector Evgeny Nikolaevich Trofimov, then Vice-rector Jayanta Ghosh visited the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education, where he was told in detail about the main areas of study, new programs, everyday life and holidays of students. A film about the Academy was shown. In turn, Jayanta Ghosh presented a video telling about  Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management. An excursion was organized especially for the guest of honor in the main academic building.

The central event of the visit – the signing of the agreement took place in the library of the main university of the Russian International Academy for Tourism. Such a partnership is more relevant than ever right now, when ties between Russia and India are expanding. Before signing the agreement, the parties exchanged greetings. Rector Yevgeny Nikolaevich Trofimov noted that such cooperation opens up new opportunities for improving the professional level of training of specialists, mutual acquaintance with the culture and traditions of both countries. Evgeny Nikolaevich presented the full range of the Academy's training programs and stressed that the new partnership would contribute to their enrichment. Vice-Rector Jayanta Ghosh expressed gratitude for the constructive business part of the visit and the warm welcome in the Russian winter cold. He noted that mutually beneficial relations will play a key role in the successful promotion of educational programs, an open and respectful attitude towards a partner will contribute to the growth of popularity and reputation of both educational institutions. The parties exchanged signed and sealed copies of cooperation agreements.

In memory of an important event, Yevgeny Nikolaevich presented Mr. Jayanta Ghosh with an engraving depicting Moscow. And the signing ceremony ended with a joint photo of its participants.

The purpose of the agreement between the Russian International Academy of Tourism and the Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management is to expand and improve international cooperation in the field of tourism and hospitality. It is planned to organize internships and academic mobility programs for students and teachers, winter and summer schools for Indian students, holding competitions and meetings with travel industry professionals. The publication of articles in the journals of both educational institutions will be launched by their rectors, presenting their scientific works.

The visit will last until January 20th. During this time, Vice-Rector Jayanta Ghosh will visit the Moscow branch of the RIAT, where he will discuss with colleagues the organization of the next culinary competition and the results of the visit, which aim at further fruitful work. An unforgettable cultural program has been prepared for Jayanta Ghosh, consisting of visits to the main sights of Moscow.
