The state final examination of students studying in the specialties of secondary vocational education and higher education in the field of hospitality has been completed.

The Rector of the Academy Evgeny Nikolaevich Trofimov evaluated the final qualification works in the bachelor's degree direction "Management", the profile "Management of sanatorium and resort business" and "Management of hotel and restaurant enterprises". In their research, the students discussed the topical issues of the sanatorium and resort sphere and presented projects to improve the advertising activities of sanatoriums, work on the organization of services sales, reception and maintenance of vacationers and hotel guests. The relevance of the graduate qualifying works is confirmed by the interest of industry representatives. An active discussion ensued between the members of the Commission, which, in addition to the RIAT professors, included representatives of the industry: Anna Alexandrovna Balzer, manager of the park hotel "Actor Ruza" 3* and Svetlana Alekseevna Shvareva, commercial director of the company "A la carte Premium Travel".

This year, the Academy has produced the first students in the bachelor's degree program "Hotel Business". The chairman of the state examination Commission Elena Vyacheslavovna Lysenkova, an expert in the field of tourism and hospitality, who previously held the position of Rostourism deputy head, highly appreciated the level of graduates’ training.
In the graduate studies, the problems of organizing an accessible environment, providing quality service were studied, as well as issues of quality control and standardization, business planning and assessing the level of guests’ satisfaction in tourism and hospitality enterprises.

The Commission was also attended by other representatives of the hotel and restaurant business - Perla Yana Nikolaevna, manager of the hotel "Benedict Hotel & SPA" 4* and Anna Alexandrovna Likhomanova, manager of the hotel "Chemodanof 4*, who noted the high–quality study of research and a decent level of student’s proficiency. The state examination Commission marked the work of ten graduates, who were given recommendations, signed by the Rector of the RIAT Trofimov E.N., for continuing their studies in the master programs.

Interesting ideas on improving the operational procedures and activities of hotel enterprises were presented in more than 30 diploma projects of students studying under the programs of secondary vocational education "Hotel service" and "Hotel business". A number of projects will be developed in further research at the programs of higher education, bachelor's degree "Tourism" and "Hotel Business", where college graduates will continue their education with the shortened period of study by 1 year.

The members of the Commissions noted that the graduates have good knowledge and professional competencies, supported by the practice obtained in leading hotels in Russia.
