RUSSIAN INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY FOR TOURISM CELEBRATES WORLD TOURISM DAY: A FESTIVAL FOR THE FUTURE OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY

The Russian International Academy for Tourism (RIAT) continued its long-standing tradition of marking World Tourism Day with a vibrant celebration. The festival, which brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests, took place on Friday, September 26, and served as an inspiring start to the new academic year. The event successfully blended dynamic sports competitions with a formal festive programme.

Energy and Team Spirit

The sporting part of the celebration demonstrated the strength and unity of the student community. Thrilling matches in volleyball and table tennis took place on the Academy's sports grounds, while enthusiasts of strength training competed in workout. The main football battles were held at the stadium. Students from the faculties of Secondary Vocational Education, Tourism Management, and the RIAT Moscow Branch showcased not only excellent physical fitness but also a genuine drive for victory, invigorating everyone with their team spirit.

Shaping the Future of Russian Tourism

The official ceremony began with an address by the Rector of RIAT, Mr. Trofimov, who emphasized the crucial role of the Academy's students as the future elite of the Russian tourism sector.

The Rector drew attention to the large-scale projects currently being implemented in Russia aimed at transforming the country's tourism industry. To realize these ambitious plans, the sector urgently needs qualified personnel, with the current deficit of specialists already reaching an impressive 400,000 people. The Academy, which trains professionals to participate in these projects, serves as a reliable launchpad and a guarantee of a successful career for every student.

The official proceedings also featured greetings from key community figures, including representatives of the municipal leadership, the rector of the local Orthodox church, and other distinguished guests, who offered their congratulations and best wishes to the RIAT students and faculty.

Initiation into Tourism and an Atmosphere of Unity

The festive concert program continued with dance performances and the culminating moment—the traditional Tourist Song Contest. This distinctive "initiation into tourism" gathered sixteen teams of first-year students on stage. The young enthusiasts demonstrated their talents and creativity. The applause and hearty support from the audience created an unforgettable atmosphere of unity and student camaraderie.

The conclusion of the celebration was a wish for success: starting the academic year with such an inspiring event is a cherished tradition at RIAT. May the new academic year bring students brilliant discoveries, the mastery of new tourist routes, and professional victories!
